The president said that Chicago knows how to deal with snow better than Washington does. Malia and Sasha complain that in Chicago they would go to school no matter what the snow drops were. They are surprised that they have to stay at home, at the White House instead of being at school on a snowy day.
The obama girls are as tough as their mommy and daddy! Way to go, girls! What is interesting about their observation is that even under the worst snow conditions they would go out to play!

Sasha and Malia are right. But having the right equipment and manpower in a timely manner is critical for snow removal. So many streets in DC are circular and that may be part of the challenge they face when ice or snow hits the area. The terrain too is a factor since we in Chicago have a flat terrain; other areas that are somewhat hilly are forced to use different strategies. Snow days are rare in Chicago, but as a kid they were also a chance to enjoy the snow.
